Topic: Gaming logo critique

Hi i made this 'logo/identity' i don't know what the proper term for it would be?
It's for the website only.
They are a small community of gamers who play FIFA.
My brief was, maybe something like a crest or badge but that wasn't essential, aslong as i use green and black colours,
the rest was up to me.
I'm pretty new to logo designing and using graphic software.
i've just started getting into it around may/june.
Anyway this is what i ended up with:

i've already given them the 'logo' and they thought it was 'awesome'.
They only needed this 'detailed' version.
but i just want to know what you guys think,
and what could be better,
because you have a better idea of these things.

Thanks
Daniel

Re: Gaming logo critique

That's more of a badge.  A logo would be more simplistic.  Your image above uses gradients and pushes for a 3d look.  A 3d look in a logo would be done with solid color differences and angles.

I think as a badge, it's pretty cool.  The only recommendation I have is to jazz up FIFA.  I like how it sits back but I think the font itself could be a little fancier. Also the white highlight in the middle of the N looks too bright.

I hope that helps.  My critiques are for the graphic as a badge.  If it was a logo, it would be totally different.

Re: Gaming logo critique

Yea i reckoned it would be more of a 'badge'
but thought maybe there'd be a better word for it lol.
I didn't want to do any jazzing up to the word FIFA
because that's the game they play and i wanted to make
it look identical to how it looks in the game.
I agree with the glow in the middle,
also the glow needs a bit of tidying up too.
Thanks Blue
